How did Rudolph's nose get so red?

EXT. REINDEER BARN - DAY

RUDOLPH grazes through the pasture.
PRANCER and DASHER, followed by their six brothers and sisters approach Rudolph.

PRANCER
Hey, Rudolph! We think we figured out why your nose glows red.

RUDOLPH
Guys, not this again.

DASHER
No. No. We got it. It's a permanent blush after seeing
Mr. and Mrs. Clause ... you know.

All the reindeers laugh and nod in agreement.

RUDOLPH
No.

Rudolph disappointed sits bothered by the conversation.

PRANCER
Okay, then it has to be a bruise that won't heal, right?
Glowing like a phantom pain.

RUDOLPH
No.

DASHER
Your mom has a thing for clowns?

Rudolph lets out a huge SIGH.

PRANCER
You have to tell us why?

FLASHBACK - EXT. REINDEER BARN - NIGHT

Moonlit sky. Rudolph sleeps peacefully on the field. A blitzed SANTA and a rosy cheeked ELF rustle through the tall grass.
Rudolph's ears twitch. Santa and the Elf crouch down, watching Rudolph for any further movements. Satisfied, Santa and the Elf continue through the field, snickering.
The Elf removes a white bottle from his festive jumper. Opening it, Santa stands prepared with a small paintbrush.
Holding back their laughs, Santa and the Elf begin painting Rudolph's nose red.

END OF FLASHBACK EXT. REINDEER BARN - DAY

Prancer and Dasher with their siblings stand in shock.

DASHER
But it glows.

Embarrassed, Rudolph covers his nose with his hooves. A red aura shimmers through.

RUDOLPH
It's fluorescent.
